Job description

What’s the Opportunity

At DoneDeal.ie and Adverts.ie, we power Ireland’s largest online marketplaces, connecting millions of people every month to buy, sell, and discover the perfect items for them. With over 3 million monthly users, our platforms sit at the heart of Irish life.

We’re on the lookout for a strategic and entrepreneurial Senior Product Manager to own and shape the peer to peer marketplace across both DoneDeal and Adverts. This is a rare opportunity to lead product development and have business impact at a huge scale, with your work directly impacting how millions of individuals in Ireland connect and transact online.

You’ll own some of the most important parts of our marketplace: user trust and safety, fraud prevention, user accounts,  ad creation, private seller monetisation, and provide support and tooling for our world-class CX team. Put simply: you’ll be building the future of Ireland’s largest online marketplaces — making it safer, smarter, more successful and more rewarding for millions.

As a senior member of our product team, you’ll report to the Head of Product and be responsible for defining vision, building innovative solutions, and delivering measurable outcomes that transform how private users engage with our platforms. This is a huge opportunity to take ownership of high-impact product areas, while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where outcomes matter, innovation is expected, and your entrepreneurial thinking will shape the next chapter of Ireland’s marketplaces.

What will I be doing

  • Owning the Private Marketplace Experience: You will be responsible for uplifting the private user journey and growing DoneDeal and Adverts business — from listing an ad to finalising a sale. You will drive change and partner with senior commercial leaders to grow key business and product KPIs.

  • Defining Product Vision & Strategy: Craft and communicate a clear product strategy that builds user trust, prevents fraud, drives monetisation, and makes transacting simple and enjoyable for millions of private users.

  • Building Trust & Safety: Lead initiatives in fraud prevention, ad quality, and identity/account management to ensure our platforms remain trusted spaces for Irish consumers.

  • Driving Growth & Monetisation: Design and deliver features that solve user problems and unlock sustainable business value through new revenue streams and better marketplace liquidity.

  • Data-Led Decision Making: Leverage insights from analytics (e.g. GA4, SQL, Tableau) and user feedback to identify problems, test hypotheses, and continuously optimise the experience.

  • Championing the User: Balance commercial goals with empathy for the private seller and buyer. Ensure users are carefully considered in product decisions.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Commercial, and our CX team to deliver impactful, user-centric solutions.

  • Roadmap & Prioritisation: Own the product backlog, maintaining an agile mindset between short-term priorities and long-term strategic bets.

  • Outcomes & Metrics: Define, track, and report on success metrics that demonstrate real impact for users and the business.

  • Go-to-Market Execution: Partner with Marketing and Commercial to ensure seamless launches that drive business outcomes, adoption, engagement, and value.

  • Mentorship & Leadership: Support and inspire colleagues by sharing knowledge, challenging assumptions, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

Job requirements

What skills and experience do I need

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience in digital marketplaces, ecommerce or consumer-facing platforms, with a proven ability to deliver measurable product & commercial outcomes.

  • Strategic & Commercial Mindset: You know how to build visions that drive user delight and business growth, spotting untapped opportunities and scaling them successfully.

  • User-Centric Approach: Deep experience in understanding consumer needs through research and data, and translating these into intuitive, high-impact product experiences.

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You thrive on autonomy, love solving big problems, and aren’t afraid to take smart risks in pursuit of breakthrough results.

  • Data-Driven Product Development: Comfortable using analytics and research tools (GA4, SQL, Tableau, Hotjar, Wootric, etc.) to guide decisions and validate outcomes.

  • Applied AI & ML Understanding: Appetite for leveraging AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and insight generation. Familiarity with machine learning and LLM-based products—whether through recommendation systems, fraud detection models, or conversational user experiences is a bonus.

  • Agile Experience: Skilled in working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, balancing rapid iteration with long-term thinking.

  • Collaboration & Influence: Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and bring people along on the product journey.

  • Trust & Safety Mindset: Experience building features that enhance user trust, reduce fraud, or improve safety in digital environments is a plus.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Able to guide, mentor, and inspire others, while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.

  • Technical Fluency: Comfortable working closely with Engineers, with a good understanding of the trade-offs and constraints that influence product decisions.

  • Marketplace Knowledge (Preferred): A passion for online marketplaces or consumer platforms, and a curiosity about the evolving landscape of peer-to-peer commerce.
