What’s the Opportunity

We are looking to recruit a Senior Android Engineer who is at the forefront of developing modern native applications and is fueled by a desire to create outstanding Android experiences! Your role will be instrumental in shaping, innovating, and ensuring stability across our three main apps - DoneDeal, Daft, and Adverts.


Our team is continually pioneering the next evolution in the mobile world. With an eye on the horizon, we're already leveraging Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Dagger Hilt in production. The ideal candidate should possess an inherent curiosity to explore, learn, and apply emerging frameworks, constantly striving to enhance and innovate in app development.


This role extends beyond technical responsibilities. You will be a key player in our overall product development process. Your extensive experience will guide our engineering decisions, influencing how we construct new features and shape the future of our apps. You'll be an integral part of our mobile apps team, collaborating closely with other Android and iOS engineers, backend engineers, product owners, designers, and quality engineers. Your expertise and input will be crucial in driving our mobile applications forward, ensuring we continue to deliver industry-leading apps.

What will I be doing

  • Building and maintaining features across our apps (DoneDeal, Daft & Adverts)

  • Ensuring the codebase is clean, scalable and tested

  • Working with other Android and iOS Engineers as part of an Agile team

  • Collaborating with our product, quality and design teams

  • Keeping up-to-date with new technologies and techniques within Android development.

  • Fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment for all team members.

  • Releasing and monitoring the health of our latest app releases

Job requirements

What skills and experience do I need

  • Minimum 6 years of Android development experience, demonstrating deep understanding of the platform

  • High proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with a focus on clean, well-documented and testable code

  • Strong knowledge of Android Studio and the latest Android SDK, familiarity with Jetpack Compose UI Toolkit is a plus

  • Extensive experience with modern mobile architectures (MVVM, MVP etc)

  • Extensive experience in writing robust unit tests and maintaining high code quality

  • In-depth knowledge of integrating with RESTful APIs

  • Experience with Source Control (Git)

  • Experience with CI/CD (Bitrise is a plus)

  • Excellent social, teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Experience in Agile methodologies
