What’s the Opportunity

Due to continued expansion we are looking for an ambitious recently qualified Financial Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be hard-working, dynamic, enthusiastic, highly organised, ambitious, with an eye for detail.

In this role you will play an integral part in delivering finance objectives and input into the design and operation of finance processes while also providing accurate financial reporting and insights.

What will I be doing

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts to meet internal and external reporting deadlines. As part of this process you’ll prepare reports for executive management, with corresponding analysis and commentary.

  • Provision of detailed performance analysis against plan, explaining variances across our various revenue and cost lines.

  • Reconciliation of Balance Sheets accounts will be a particular focus.

  • Twice monthly revenue reporting and analysis presented to executive management.

  • Working with the various business divisions in the group to assist with the production of timely and accurate financial forecasts and budgets to strict deadlines.

  • Business partnering with key managers to understand business performance and addressing their financial requirements.

  • Continual review of current financial processes, identifying improvements and introducing cross functional changes as required.

  • Working with our credit controller, reduce and manage our aged debt to required levels and report to company management on a weekly basis.

  • Support the annual audit process.

  • Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as required.

Job requirements

What skills and experience do I need

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 1-2 years post qualification experience in an industry role.

  • Exceptional analytical skills (sophisticated Excel), with very strong numeracy and comfortable handling large data sets.

  • Excellent communicator with experience developing relationships with internal partners to understand their requirements.

  • Strong report writing experience and excellent presentation skills.

  • Strong commercial acumen, with understanding and belief in how the finance department contributes to strategic decision making.

  • Well organised with experience working to deadlines.

  • Previous management accounting experience required.

  • Prior experience with system design and migration would be an added advantage.

  • An organised individual who can self-manage multiple priorities, routine work and urgent issues as they arise. The ideal candidate is focused on resolving issues in a proactive and timely way.

  • Strong analytical & interpersonal skills.

  • An aptitude for identifying & implementing operational & system improvements.

  • The ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple and shifting priorities.

  • Customer focused with the ability to collaborate with other departments whenever necessary

  • A positive, hardworking, can-do attitude and flexible approach to work
