What’s the Opportunity?
We are currently looking for a Strategy & Business Development Analyst on the Commercial team who will be responsible for growing Distilled’s revenue and EBITDA ensuring the business’ long term sustainability. The role will provide the exposure to grow quickly within the business, learning from the various functional teams and reporting to the Strategy and Business Development Director.
In the role you will focus predominantly on Ireland's largest marketplace, DoneDeal, where our primary focus is to make buying and selling simpler for everyone in Ireland. Within this our specific focus is around the motor and agricultural verticals.
We are looking for hard working and motivated individuals who are passionate about solving customer’s problems, focus on data to make decisions, and have an imaginative approach to new product development.
What will I be doing?
The Commercial Team is responsible for assessing the viability of new and existing products and finding opportunities to further grow the business.
Working closely with the management team you will coordinate with other key business units within the company such as Product, Analytics, Sales and Marketing to ensure we are as responsive and relevant to our customer and user needs as possible.
Within this work you will:
Study current product usage by our clients/users
Find opportunities to optimise our current products
Find opportunities to develop new products for our customers
Analyse supply and demand to make sure our marketplace grows in a healthy way
Support creation of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and Monthly reporting
Carry out benchmarking and gap analysis vs competitors
Speak with our users and customers to better understand their problems and potential solutions
Job requirements
What competencies, skills and experience do I need?
Strong capabilities in data analysis and presentation and show willingness to learn new data tools (Advanced Excel, Tableau, Salesforce etc)
SQL abilities would benefit the role but not required
Must have examples of times you have tried to go out and solve challenges yourself in a work or personal context, implementing initiatives you have felt strongly about
Comprehensively understand and be able to communicate business and product analytics to support the creation of business strategies that drive growth
Exploring and testing new product initiatives to expand our business’ reach
Identifying gaps or opportunities in the market
A proven creative approach with a track record introducing new products or ideas
Strong analytical skills with knowledge of strategic, economic, and financial analysis frameworks and models
Graduate in Business & Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics preferred with a strong academic background.
Will consider all levels from, Graduate to Professionally qualified
